About The Leela Stories

An independent library of original fiction — short stories, serials and novels, published a chapter at a time. Read the free chapters without an account; sign in to keep your place across devices and to open anything you have bought.

The Leela Stories is an independent publisher of original fiction, written and run by one author. Short stories are published whole; longer works are serialised, a chapter at a time, so that a book arrives the way it was once read — in instalments, over months.

Every story opens with chapters that are free to read, with no account and no payment. Later chapters of a longer work may require a purchase or a membership, and the price is always shown before anything is bought. Payments are handled by PayPal; card details never reach this site.

An account exists so that your reading follows you. It remembers the chapter and the place on the page you had reached, on every device you read from, and it keeps whatever you have bought attached to you rather than to a browser. You can sign in with a one-time email link or with a password, whichever you prefer.

Signing in shares only your email address, which identifies your account. What else the site keeps — where you left off in a story, anything you buy — is set out in the Privacy.

Written and published from Mumbai. Questions, or a request to delete your account, go to hello@leelastories.com.
